Meet Dr. Eric Bean
As a physician and a fellow human navigating a fast-paced world, Dr. Bean shares a cure that goes beyond prescriptions
“I just want to help people. It is that simple,” says Dr. Eric Bean.
After seeing how the modern “busy epidemic” impacts health and happiness, Dr. Bean set out to write a book that gives people the tools to take their time-and their lives-back. His mission is simple: to help people thrive, not just survive.
Dr. Eric Bean is a practicing physician, educator, and dad to three teenagers who has spent his career helping people feel less overwhelmed—whether they are patients, colleagues, or entire organizations. His experience across hospitals, community programs, and digital innovation has given him a front-row seat to the realities of modern busyness and what it takes to push back against it.
Eric teaches at the University of South Florida and supports innovation training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he enjoys guiding students and executive leaders as they bring new ideas to life.
His writing, consulting, and speaking reflect one passion: helping others understand their own patterns of busyness and equipping them with practical, compassionate tools to reclaim what matters most.

Why Did Dr. Eric Bean write "The Busy Cure"?
Dr. Eric Bean didn’t set out to write another productivity book—he set out to write a wake-up call.
After years in emergency rooms and leadership roles, he saw the same pattern everywhere: talented, passionate people burning out under the weight of their own ambition. Doctors, executives, parents, students—each one “too busy” to breathe, reflect, or recharge.
At first, he wore his own busyness like a badge of honor. But as the pace intensified, he realized it wasn’t sign of success-it was a warning sign. The constant urgency was costing people their health relationships, and sense of purpose.
That realization inspired The Busy Cure—a framework for recognizing and reversing what Dr. Bean calls Busyness Syndrome. Drawing from neuroscience, clinical insights, and lived experience, he helps reader: replace frantic productivity with meaningful progress-reclaiming time, energy, and presence in a world that glorifies “more.”
